“As a Personal Injury Lawyer, I see too many cases of innocent victims injured and losing their lives to distracted driving such as texting,” said Attorney Ken Gerber. “We can always hope that people are going to be careful just because of common sense and because of the risks involved. But the truth is that good people make poor choices every day.”

North Valley Christian Academy hopes this will be a lesson to students to not text and drive. “Many high school students attend our school who drive on a regular basis,” said Principal Jason Mitchell. “We are always stressing the importance of not texting and driving. We’re encouraging all of our students and their families to participate in this fundraiser for the fallen officer’s family.”

Officer Townsend leaves behind a wife and a 10-month-old child. He had been with the department for five years.

Interview opportunities available before and on the day of the event.
