The full-service fitness club in Chandler, AZ offers 10-minute basketball games and an hour-long basketball boot camp. All pickup games are organized, timed, scored, and officiated by trained referees.

“I am extremely excited to bring this concept to the valley,” says PickUp USA Owner, Jay Bhakta. “Basketball players of all ages and skill level will get to enjoy and benefit from our club.”

PickUp USA offers a variety of basketball and fitness services:

• organized officiated pickup basketball games

• group and private basketball training (ages 5 and up)

• basketball court rentals

• weight and cardio rooms, lounges

All you need to do is show up. The staff handles the organization. You can bring your friends to play or you can drop into the rotation for games that run back-to-back every 10 minutes.

“Pickup USA takes all of the guesswork out of playing,” said General Manager Steven Lancaster. “You receive color-coded jerseys and PA system to announce the next team up.”   The gym even has the same basketball courts used in March Madness! They’re washed three times a day.

Lancaster said basketball is one of the most played sports in the world so he invites everyone to come and try it — even if you’ve never played before. “Our trainers can also advise you on a healthy diet and help you with physical health and wellness that’ll lead to a better lifestyle.”

Steven played professional basketball in Holland for six years after college. In high school, he played in the Amateur Athletic Union, (AAU), with LeBron James, currently with the Cleveland Cavaliers. In addition to PickUp USA, Steven is a basketball trainer.  He got into basketball training after moving to the valley because he wanted to take all of his experience and train others. “I’ve been truly blessed.”

The cost is competitive with other gyms. $29.95 gives you full access to the basketball courts, group training sessions, and a fitness center. $59.95 gives access to officiated PickUp games.

HOURS: Mon-Fri 7a-10p; Sat/Sun 8a-4p; PICKUP GAMES Mon-Thurs, 6p-10p; Sat 10a-2p; Sun 11a-2p; open games (no referees) all day Friday.
